What Is It? game 164

It's time for our collaboration with the always amusing What Is It? Blog. Can you guess what the pictured item is? Great guesses win prizes!

Place your guess in the comment section below. One guess per comment, please, though you can enter as many as you'd like. Post no URLs or weblinks, as doing so will forfeit your entry. Two winners: the first correct guess and the funniest (albeit ultimately wrong) guess will win T-shirt from the NeatoShop.

Please write your T-shirt selection alongside your guess. If you don't include a selection, you forfeit the prize, okay? May we suggest the Science T-Shirt, Funny T-Shirt and Artist-Designed T-Shirts?

For more clues, check out the What Is It? Blog. Good luck!

Update: I thought Jared was the first with the correct answer (the item is a bottle opener!) then it turns out that sandyra was actually earlier with the correct answer and I overlooked it. So, both are now winners! Wilbur's answer was the funniest: "These are used exclusively for constructing wooden spiral staircases. (too bad you don't have the hammer in the pic)..." All win t-shirts from the NeatoShop!

Is your husband just too shy about his earring size? Well he shouldn't be any more, this is a quite "large" manly man's earring he wont be ashamed to show off at work. Made with 100 percent Iron, it is perfectly shiny when you first purchase it, but as it gets older and a bit less sightly, it begins to change color, letting you know its time for a new one. CAUTION: Earring not to be whipped out in public, its massive size might cause a riot...among women.

"I do what the voices in my wife's head tell me to do", or "if you think pushing 40 is hard...wait till you start dragging it" Mens Large please.

That would be a drip hook. The sharp part goes through the ankles between the bones and the tendons. The head of the hook is then put in a track and the animal's jugular and carotid arteries are slit. The animal is left to hang for several hours until all of the blood has drained away. It is a Finnish Hamgluderung. Often carried in the left coat pocket for luck, it has the real life function. Should two gentlemen expoarate at the same moment and if the exporation accidently collide or lands atop the other, it was commonly held that the spitters would have to fight to the death. Unless, one or the other could produce the hamgluderung and holding it aloft profess their adulation for St. Olaf.
I carry two just in case.

Tshirt, x large, come to the dark side we have cookies.

Is it a bent nail for the opera? Apparently, it's a sign of good luck to find a bent nail in an opera hall, and many singers carry one in their pockets! I learned about this, actually, because it was in a question on the LSAT, so I looked it up =)

Just in case!, I like Hard Hat Turtle (L)!

seems to be a kind of keyring... just bead the keys on the nail and then bend it to a completely closed ring so that the keys cant fell of.. to remove the keys just bent the nail until the gap is wide enough so you may remove the keys...

a Ninja safety spike- these were thrown down and unlike other spikes that would break the skin if you stepped on them, these would just hurt like the dickens.

It's a commemorative railroad spike, bent, as in "Get bent, you communities who would resist expansion! Corporations are people, too! Says the Supreme Court!"

Neatoramabot, medium, dark gray.

Or a shower curtain hook, It's threaded through the hole in the top of the curtain all the way to the head and then slipped onto the rod.

It appears to be an Italian ship builders nail. Note how it gently curves around to unite the planks and keep them tight. It's true... Honest... Look it up!
