Wording was a bit screwed up on this one.

When you state consecutive integers in the first part of the question, it is implied that each number is one more than the prior. The second part of the question says consecutive digits which does not have that implication. Therefore, if you take the definition of consecutive as following one another without interruption; successive Then if follows that consecutively, 12346 has each digit increasing and is the sum of 3085,3086,3087,3088.
