Abandoned Michigan Dino Park for Sale

This 15-acre dinosaur theme park formerly known as Prehistoric Forest is looking for a new owner. Located in Irish Hills, Michigan, the park comes with a two-story waterfall, a volcano (no longer smoking and rumbling), a main building, a gift shop, and 100 fiberglass dinosaurs.

The real estate agent suggests you could turn the place into a daycare center, a campground, a restaurant, or something else.  She also suggests that you could apply for a liquor license.

According to AgilityNut, the park opened around 1963 with a safari train, a dino nest with eggs, a caveman, pterodactyls, a dig site with fossils, strange giant daisies and fake cactus. The dinosaur sculptures were created by James Q. Sidwell who also did the dinos for the Prehistoric Forest in Marblehead, Ohio and Dinosaur Land in White Post, Virginia.

All this could be yours for the low, low price of $548,000!

$548,000? After the Silverdome sold for only $39k more than that I think that's a little pricey. Tell ya what, I'll give 'em 5 bucks and a coupon for half off on a pecan log at Stuckey's.

Is this the same Prehistoric Forest from the movie Tommy Boy? David Spade hits Chris Farley over the head with a 2x4, and then casually notices they've parked their car next to Prehistoric Forest.

My Brothers and I went to this park as children. It's been for sale for years. Every time I drive by it I wish I had the money to buy it, it would be soooo awesome.

I've been to the prehistoric forest in Ohio, which is the one from Tommy Boy (It's a classic moment of Ohio based cinema, we know these things, and are obligated to watch it at least once a year, lol)

anyway, it's super cool and lame at the same time, and fffff I wish I was rich enough to just buy it and run around out there pretending all the dinos are real.

maybe it'll be converted into a crazy ass creationist theme park (like another one has) where men roam amongst the dinosaurs! time to take up a donation to stop the madness!
