What Is It? Game 133

Hooray! It's time for our collaboration with the always awesome What Is It? Blog - can you guess what the scary object to the left is used for?

As usual, the first person who guesses correctly as well as the submitter of the funniest yet ultimately incorrect guess will get T-shirts of their choice from the NeatoShop. Science T-shirts? Funny T-shirts? We got 'em!

Place your guess in the comment section. One guess per comment, please. You can enter as many guesses as you can think of. Please write no web links or URLs - doing so will invalidate your entry. IMPORTANT: Please write down your choice of T-shirt from the NeatoShop along with your guess.

You have until the answer is revealed at the What is it? Blog tomorrow. For more clues, definitely check out the What is it? Blog. Good luck!

Update 4/11/10 - The answer is:a lightning rod. Congrats to Lucas who got it right first, and Tim C for kraken prod (I'm kind of a softie for krakens)

It looks like that tool that the guys on Fast and Furious used to spike into the side of the people's cars and short out all the electricity. Bacon's Revenge

Government issued antenna tip. The strategic placement of the prongs enable the feds to delve into your mind.
For your mental safety, wear a tin foil hat (also prevents brain cancer.)

An early design on the lawn dart. Failed not for its excellent ability in aerating the human body but for product development costs and so the lawn dart was changed to a single spike device.

It is a kraken prod used by Norse kraken-ranchers in ancient times before the market for kraken meat dried up and the abandoned beasts reverted to the wild.

Clearly, Raphael has spent his free time making his spare tsais into a decorative pizza holder. Sewer chic! (I Survived The Large Hadron Collidor)

Batman's first attempt at a grappling hook, it failed due to it kept falling back at him. He went through two Robin's before he changed the design.

Spear tip. The side prongs were used to grapple the opponent's weapon so that with a twist you could either break or wrench it out of the opponent's hands.

I forgot to include the important part, shirt, "Busted" medium (if I win)

It is a pork slab holder found in resturants typically in Mexico. They spin it and marinate it as it's cooking on there.

Used throughout medievil London to bring street thugs to justice, the long end of the shaft would be unceremoniously thrust into the bowels of the insurgents and spun around to gather all entrails onto the four smaller prongs.

The entrails where then cooked, and put on display for all those to see what street thuggery had in store.

Hey I don't make it up, it's history man.

Anything with bacon please.. mmmmm bacon!

I don't know what it really is, but we used one for baking potatoes. Well, we used an oven for baking the potatoes, but they went in on that, the spikes holding them upright.

Because potatoes taste better when baked vertically.

True facts.

Moon on the beach in small please :)

tip of a spear for hunting boar. The boar charges and you point the spear at the running animal (takes intestinal fortitude). The outer spikes stop the animal from running all the way up. Some versions of these had a hinged bottom that was stabbed into the ground. You would lift the boar and let the blood drain before cleaning. I saw one on a floating ship museum.

It looks like a large meat spit to me, the middle one pierces the meat and the smaller ones keep the meat in place as it rotates... It usually comes with a twin though if it is.

:S Could be wrong.. Usually they only have 2 smaller spikes, but you never know those crazy old medieval folk, they may need a extra large one for roastin those giant boars..

I doubt im right but on the off chance, The last cookie t-shirt is cool, M size.. But those space invader ice cubes are cooler..
