What Is It? Game 132

This week's collaboration with the What is it? Blog brings us this gruesome looking tool. Do you know what it is for? You can win a T-shirt of your choice from the Neatorama Shop.

Write your guess in the comment section. One guess per comment, please. You can enter as many as you'd like. Please write no URL or weblink - doing so will invalidate your entry. You have until the answer is revealed at the What is it? Blog tomorrow.

The first correct guess and the funniest albeit incorect guess will win T-shirts from the Neatorama Shop. IMPORTANT: Please write your choice of T-shirt along with your entries. So take a quick look at the shop, mmkay?

Check out the What is it? Blog for more clues. Good luck!

Update 3/30/10 - the answer is: A hand operated ice plow, used for finishing out the groove made by a horse drawn ice plow. After the ice plow had made grooves in the ice, an ice saw was used to finish the cut.

Congratulations to Jerry Kelly who came up with "ice plow" first and to RobbyBobby who came up with the funniest guess: ninja lawnmower.

Early Russian prototype Siberian windshield wiper.

More developed ones that work onder Siberian climatic conditions make this one look tiny and puny...

"My other shirt is a Biohazard suit" size XL if you please! :-P

This tool is called a "Ice Plow" used after the "Ice Marker" when harvesting pond ice. It would cut the ice to 2/3 the depth. This was followed by the "Ice Saw".

Next time you eat ribs, you won't have to worry about trying to gnaw the meat off. Just place the ribs between each notch and slide. This tool will strip the meat right off the bones!

It's the "|" symbol from a cuneiform typewriter. I believe it's a Sumer-Corona model.

It's the Seven Dwarves' razor. One of them always ended up with a cut face, so they rotated a lot. Eventually Grumpy sold it to a collector and said it was a rake. For little gardens.

Isn't that part of a device for breaking ice cubes out of a tray? (not a saw, slats go through the gaps)
I have a similar old-timey one in my freezer. If you touch it with wet hands it'll stick to you and yank off your finger tips, yikes!

Looks like something they would have used years ago to perform torture acts of one kind or another. Although this is a great find. Haven't the slightest clue what it might be a very eager to find out!

This is an antique color swatch used in the '40s and '50s to determine which shade of gray the walls in a family's home were to be painted. Everything was in black-and-white back then, right? Or was that just film and TV?

Introducing Sweeney Todd's new multi-purpose razor. With this razor you can cut a large area of hair. It may be difficult to turn with the blade so there may be some "accidents".

This is an electron microscope enhanced view of the latest creation in the line of muti-bladed razors. Notice the fine edges as each successive blade pulls and cuts your beard growth even closer, taking at least 3 sub layers of skin with each pass.

It's actually a stalk chopper.............and I really, really could use it... if it's for sale......Ever since a guy that I detest survived my attempt to run him over with my soccer-mom mini-van..........I've been looking for such a practically perfect amputation tool for his head (or other body parts).
