That was so sweet! I'm surprised more people didnt want to High-Five him!

Hmm. Giving out high fives to randoms? That is something my boyfriend likes to do, as do My Morning Jacket fans.

This is awesome. Just one man doing something to put a smile on someones face. It didn't cost anything, just a little time, some cardboard, and a willingness to make someones day better. I bet his hand was sore though!

This post can also be named "voluntary bacteria donation".

have a look at some of the other improv everywhere stuff, they make it their mission to cheer people up and add a little extra enjoyment to their lives.

they once came all the way to my town in the UK for a stunt. and i didn't find out until later, and apparently barely anyone turned up to help, compared the the hundreds that have joined in in the past over in the US.

I used to work with him! I'm sure I've given him at least one high five of my own. Sweeet.

Yeah, I was going to mention that studies have show people carry a ton more germs on their hands that they do on, say, their butts or genetalia.

However, I do have to condone anything that makes so many people smile.

Aw, that made me smile. I liked seeing people get more interested and curious as they passed the little signs. Most folks are cool with a little whimsy in their day.

That made me smile, but def made me want to give him some hand sanitizers though..... alot of people aren't exactly uh.. clean....

Our son Zach (15yo) is mentally challenged. He high fives people all the time -- just for being themselves.

Case in point: my husband and Zach were in DC during "Capitol Pride" weekend. They were waiting for a metro train, and when it stopped, Zach started high-fiving people as they came off the train, and others as they got on. Soon it became a party, with a large group of lesbians cheering everyone who got a high five.

My husband said it was very cool. :-)

As long as you aren't sticking your fingers in your mouth or up your nose it really doesn't matter how many hands you touch as long as you wash your hands afterwards.

It's not like the "germs" bore through your skin and release their toxins into your blood stream! :D

I wonder what the world record for high fives is.

right, HE might wash his hands later, but people who high five him after he's recieved many other high-fives might not consider what they are picking up..

As far as people having less germs on their butts or genitalia, I imagine neither alternative would have gone over quite as well as just using his hands.
