Old Spice's Manmercials

I think this commercial is hilarious, but I hate the "MANMERCIAL" designation. Its not like men are an untapped marketing demographic.

Slap a little Old Spice on your man and he will cease to be a fat, T.V. watching, wimp. I think you will be better off just putting on the beer goggles and not caring what both of you really are. Old Spice should have a brand of alcohol that's used internally, rather than externally.

That was fast. I saw this on TV right before I fired up the computer this morning. I would say this is a "memorable" ad.

It only took a few years to sucker men into thinking that they need body wash. Next comes guyliner, scrotal bras, and "anthro-paint" (lame name) for lips.

What a BS commercial. A hot girl lying on nacho's is possible.

well really body wash appeals to men, as opposed to using a bar of soap. the two in one body wash and shampoo is the ultimate male shower product.

i would agree that male beauty products is a viable and possibly very profitable market, if spun well.

Great! A bit funny, a bit ADD. But does anyone else see a double standard at work? For example, consider an advertisement for women's body wash. Miranda Kerr (bless her) tells the male audience, "Get your wives/girlfriends to use this soap, and she'll be a little more like me (you know, 'cause she doesn't smell like a woman right now)". Wa-hay! A lot of men would pay attention, and a lot of wives and girlfriends would cockblock them for a week or so.
That said, I'm sure some wives will buy the bodywash for their husbands so they can "smell more like men". And a lot of guys will be hoping they'll have sex that week if they use the soap. Geez louise....

advertising freak that i am, i have to say this is brilliant marketing. by broadly acknowledging the undertones of commercials aimed at men they've created something hysterically funny. bravo.

also, old spice does make you smell manly.

I love the ads, but a bar of soap with minimal additives and scents is the ideal shower product for men. Something like ivory or similar. You can throw on some aftershave later if you need to smell like something.

You know what my wife likes? When I smell like I've been cooking dinner. Which is most nights.

Yeah, after several years of an all-female household, my husband and stepson moved in and it took me a while to figure out why they needed special soaps and shampoo and stuff. I had gotten into the habit of automatically buying everything in rose flavor without realizing it!

I love these commercials. They hit the random and funny keys that a lot of other ads miss by miles. This one cracks me up every time I see it. I'm on a horse.

Love the commercial, especially, "Look @ your man, now look @ me." the brotha is quite fine & tasty so I can't wait to see more!
