Anna filed for Sal’s disqualification of service. However, the jury commissioner was unmoved and denied the request.
Sal’s service date at Suffolk Superior Court is set for March 23. Anna said that if the issue isn’t cleared up by then, she will simply have to bring the cat to court.

Awesome cat pic, Miss C. Yours?
However, this looks like nothing more than a publicity stunt on the part of the woman. Other articles mention(conventiently left out on web sites like this) that she sent in the form to ask to be excused and marked "does not speak english" - rather than simply writing in "this is a family pet" and actually telling them what's going on. She's deliberately dragging it out, for the attention (and possibly to avoid getting int rouble for registering the cat to vote, which would technically be a crime).
Judge: Why did you bring your baby to court?
Woman: I told the JC I had a baby and no childcare but he didn't listen.
Judge: Officer, why are you here?
Cop: The JC said that only you could excuse me. The County is paying me OT to be here.
Judge: Cat, why are you here?
Cat: Meow?

"I'm sorry, but this cat is biased and cannot serve on this jury."
