This June 6th marks the 65th anniversary of one of the most iconic battles of World War 2: Operation Overlord, more commonly known as D-Day. It is the largest amphibious military operation in history, and the resulting allied success in liberating Paris marked the beginning of the end of the German war machine.

Lots of French and Moroccans that were part of the Allied force that liberated that part of my country lie there.
It is such a great honour to do this for the ever thinning line of Veterans that is represented there. And each year we are ever so humbled by the fact that these Veterans come to thank US that we young soldiers Salute their fallen Brothers... That feels like the world upside down, because we stand there only because they gave their lives and blood and sanity for our freedom.
Seeing these pictures on this particular sunday morning brings me a different kind of spiritual sentiment. My prayers this morning go out to all those men and women who took part of that moment in history.
