8 Regional Foods You're Embarrassed To Love

First lesson learned: Eskimo Ice Cream does not include cream. Fish, whipped fat, berries, sugar, but no cream.  And don't you worry, Hawaiians, SPAM is included in this list.

We took a culinary tour of the country to unearth some of America's most bizarre—but beloved—regional delicacies. From salmon-based Eskimo Ice Cream to Hawaii’s popular Spam musubi, the dishes below are sure to both satisfy your curiosity and test your gag reflex.

I cringe to think that Spam Musubi is probably the healthest meal on that list. Even though the Akutaq is made of all natural ingredeints, I don't think I am lacking whipped fat in my diet.

Freakin LOVE Spam! I love in South Carolina. Grew up eating spam. Love it w/ scrambled eggs, but my fav is when you cut it up in to little cubes, boil it w/ water, soy sauce, sesame seed oil, red pepper. Let that simmer for a while. Serve w/ white rice and dried seaweed if ya have any. YUM!

Gail, I was about to say the same thing, but at 29 years!

I had some sort of dark-colored scrapple once in Amish country. We were on a school trip and we all saw it at the breakfast table and were like "Oooh, breakfast brownies!" Those were not breakfast brownies, and no amount of apple butter made them taste good.

Gail and Chandrielle, I have you both beat!
I lived in California for my first 39 years (44 now) and still had never heard of avocado pie, and living in San Francisco, I didn't exactly lead a culinarily sheltered life. Learn something new every day here....

I would try the Eskimo Ice Cream - simply because I like spam and I like scrapple.

Speaking of scrapple - I think that will overtake bacon madness in maybe a year.
