The Human Washing Machine

In 1970, consumer electronics maker Sanyo wanted to improve your daily ablutions. It came up with this: the Ultrasonic Bath AKA the Human Washing Machine.

If it had better accesibility, it would be fantastic for elderly people who needs help to take baths.
And it also can be a good water saver, generally speaking (I know some people who spend about 45 min. in the shower everyday!).

I'd imagine that the amount of room it takes up can be greatly reduced with current technology. I mean, the size of that basin the woman is sitting in is not feasible for the amount of living space in most Japanese homes... unless there’s a toilet included in that device too.
