Who's Watching the Puppy Bowl Today?

Not to sound like a complete girl cliche, but I'm really not interested in the Super Bowl this year. There are some years I'm interested, but not this year. And I should probably care a little more, since Kurt Warner is from Iowa, but... meh.

But Puppy Bowl? That's an event I can get behind. Plus, the website is kind of awesome. It gives you tips and tricks on how to throw the perfect Puppy Bowl party (tail-gate, hahaha), offers tongue-in-cheek interviews with the Puppy Bowl "ref," lets you check out the starting lineup and even gives you a sneak preview of this year's Star Spangled Banner Performer - Pepper the Parrot.

I confess - part of the reason the Puppy Bowl is awesome is because I think it's funny to watch my dogs watching dogs on T.V.

Yeah Puppy Bowl! I'm so bored with the Super Bowl. But puppies are a different story. I bet Micky Rourke would rather watch Puppy Bowl too. Remember a few weeks ago his Golden Globes acceptance speech: "...sometimes when a man's alone, that's all you got is your dog." Guess what? He's got the names of his seven dogs etched inside one of his rings: Loki, Jack The Great, his "wife" Angel, Chocolate, Mow Zone, Knee Knee and Rome. If you want to know how he gave one of his chihuahuas mouth-to-mouth resusitation for 45 minues read :

My dog also loves watching TV. Here he is watching, appropriately enough, an episode of Bones -

The Puppy Bowl 2009 was the best ever. Matilda the Beagle, the "Most Valuable Puppy" scored two CONSECUTIVE touchdowns! And how cute was that tiny black puppy (I think his name was Theodore)who stood up for himself with the bigger pups. I loved the "streaker," and also the adorable little one who fell asleep on the field (and got a penalty for "delay of game"). We are big baseball and hockey fans who are kind of "meh" about football, but we will NEVER miss the Puppy Bowl. Although I think the Kitty Halftime Show could use some more kittens and catnip to spice it up.
