Monkey Pig

Homer Simpsons got the Spider Pig, but Feng Changlin of Fengzhang village in rural China got something even better: a Monkey Pig!

"It's hideous. No one will be willing to buy it, and it scares the family to even look at it!" Feng told Oriental Today.

He says the piglet looks just like a monkey, with two thin lips, a small nose and two big eyes. Its rear legs are also much longer than its forelegs, causing it to jump instead of walk.

This looks like a simple case of cycloipa or holoprosencephaly, with a median eye (2 irises) and the proboscis/snout above the eye. This same thing happens to humans and other mammals. This piglet has nothing to do with a primate and is 100% piggy. This is most likely a result of a chromosomal disorder during gamete formation. Doing an image search for cyclopia will yield some interesting and similar (yet graphic) results, including the two irisis in one median eye.

"But our son likes to play with it, and he stopped us from getting rid of it. He even feeds it milk."

The son has more conscience than his parents.

Yeah I was just about to say that exact thing.

hee hee

Also people should really be prevented from screaming Photoshop about everything they don't understand.

It's getting to the stage where they might as well squeal

WITCHCRAFT.

I wonder if anyone has any special recipes for this new meat!

beats the old chinese favourite of two legged mutton - a step towards irradicating the practice of rural cannibalism perhaps..

Or was it KFC trying out a new type of meat...

Spencer Holmes: thanks!
Polx: Well said. Those who 'scream Photoshop about everything they don’t understand' should type 'scientific method' into their search engine... skepticism is a tough gig. But running through town as a torch-wielding, irrational villager does have its appeal ...

holoprosencephaly. My son has a very minor case of this. Basically a fusion of the brain with other midline facial abnormalities. When we discovered this in-utero, our doctor almost forcefully recommended delivery at 28 weeks, which would have made it next to impossible for our son to survive with all the other problems he was having. We told him where to go. Our son, who still came 5 weeks premature, is now 2.5 years old, very healthy, happy, loved, and though he looks a little different and has some developmental challenges, he strengthens everyone he meets.

Now, at least once a year, we take him in to this arrogant paranatologist's office, talk to the staff, drop off literature, and remind him that even less-than-ideal odds can result in a win.

i don't know what happened here. none of us do. but we need to quit screaming "PHOTO SHOP" every time we see something we don't understand. every time i hear someone say "photo shop" i say DENILE!
is this half pig/monkey or half pig/human? i really hope this isn't someone messing with mother nature. either way we shouldn't let it reproduce. no need to kill it, unless it's living in pain. just sterilize it.
