If I had one of these, I’d never get anything done because I’d spend all my time fidgeting with it! http://www.shop.theneocube.com/category.sc;jsessionid=D97C4CB0460924556B16348FD7E7C1BC.qscstrfrnt03?categoryId=3 -via reddit
Furthermore, they'll stay magnetized years and years, but they're brittle. If you let them come together from far apart you run the risk of cracking them.
I have a cube of neodymium magnets. I can confirm that as soon as you pick it up, you can't get anything else done.
Rather than spheres, "weakly" magnetized 1/8" - 3/16" cubical magnets are the best choice for this. Be sure to get a perfect cube. (K&J magnetics sells them in cubic quantities, even!)
holy crap!! i love magnetic toys.. a few years back i bought a little magnet-building kit thing from the planetarium and i could not put it down. it is SUCH a terrible idea to sell a bunch of stoners a toy like that... needless to say, all the parts never make it to the next user.
Well guess I better order one fast. Knowing our society, some idiot parent will give it to their toddler who will then swallow the thing resulting in some medical horror story. Then watch it get banned even though its not for kids in the first place.
We supply Neocube magnetic balls (magnetic spheres) whose size is from 3mm~10mm. They are very powerful and amazing. There are 216pcs of magnetic spheres in one set.
The magnetic fields of magnetic balls are concentrated more at the poles than disc or block magnets. These balls are great for experimentation and magic tricks and are just plain fascinating to play with.
Neocube is consisted of hundreds of individual strong neodymium balls.
You can create huge number of shapes and models according to your imagination by this amazing Neocube.
Neocube is wonderfully suitable for experiments and combining with other magnets.
No one who comes into contact with these magnets ever wants to give them back. These small but very powerful Neocube inevitably arouse a sense of play.

These are the coolest puzzles! I just bought 2 of them from this place called TheCyberCube.com. They have different types of cubes and cool packaging! Its defiantly a must check out. The price was pretty good. I believe the “7x7 Creation Cube” is the same as the NeoCube BUT the 7x7 Creation Cube you get 343 spheres VS the NeoCube you only get 216 spheres. Dunno … Check it out!! :)
I just want to say thank you to all the people who left information regarding where to buy a neocube the cheapest.
After looking up those mentioned and several (including wholesalers) I found on my own, I believe that the CyberCube is the best value for your money.
I tried to buy a bulk lot from a wholesaler before searching for the cheapest set available. In my search of wholesalers the best one I found was Indigo.com. They unfortunately do not sell sphere magnets and if they did I SUSPECT that it would still be cheaper to buy a set of 216 or 343 magnets from a place like BukcyBalls or NeoCube or CyberCube, but they have good deals on other magnets and scientific equipment - I searched for hours. I believe that they have the cheapest prisms on the web (trianlge-shaped pieces of glass that let you see around corners or show the full spectrum of light).
For instance, you can buy 64 (which is 4x4) nickle-coated neodymium N42 cube magnets that are 5mm x 5mm x 5mm, for only $11.52 .
hi i have a neo cube and i works awesome! I gave my boyfriend a ring made out of these. they are cheaper in bulk btw. I personally like using them for bracelets and necklaces.

Oh yes! I was thinking that as Well!
Also: This is going to the top of my xmas list.
Dagnabbit... thanks to you I just ordered 100 1/8" cubes from K&J.
The rubber coated ones seem even cooler but far more expensive.
