The World’s Longest Bridges

With my grandmother living in New Orleans, I did my fair share of Ponchatrain bridge crossings, especially when she decided she wanted to take me to fairs in towns on the other side of the lake.

And every single time, there was a storm in the middle of the bridge.

I remember it has U turns every few kilometers and storm warning signs all over the place.

I feel the urge to cross it again...

my friends and i play a game where we try to hold in one inhalation of weed smoke while crossing a bridge/tunnel, but i dont think even the gold medalist at the bong olympics could touch these bridges...

OK, these are pretty cool, but how about a post on the most beautiful and/or dramatic bridges? C'mon, Alex!

i havent been on any of them but the new orleans one, but i'm betting all the others have better scenery... unless you like looking at swamp and houses that have boat ramps instead of driveways...

At one point in my life I often would go from New Jersey to Virginia on the weekends. My favorite route took me across both the Cape May ferry and the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. It was always an amazing drive/ride.

The trip I most remember involved an amourous encounter during the ferry ride.

I want to get in my car right now and go again.

When the now-Wife & I were dating, we took a trip across the (Chesapeake) Bay Bridge to Ocean City for a long weekend. Coming back, I snoozed in the passenger seat as she drove. No big deal, until I learned months later that she is absolutely *terrified* off crosssing bridges. She performed an act of incredible heroism simply getting across that monstrosity, and I never even batted an eyelash. I'm such an insensitive bastard.
