A Ghost Town Buried in the Sand

Kolmanskop in Namibia was a booming town after diamonds were discovered in the region in 1908. But diamond sales dropped, and the town was abandoned in the 1950s. Mother Nature took over, and the shifting sands invaded the empty buildings of Kolmanskop. Fogonazos has the story, plus pictures and a video. Link -via Dark Roasted Blend

I'd say intriguing and fascinating, but what you don't see in these pictures, is the tromping and stomping of loud noisy tourists taking pictures and droning on to one another about. (there's a video, watch it).

Its hardly a ghost town anymore. Any self respecting ghost probably left long ago, right around the same time as the souvenir stand went in.
