I've only heard of two of these books and only read one (HP clearly...). I think the 100 most important books of 2007 in England would be very different. Or perhaps I just haven't kept up with new releases like I should have...
I feel so ignorant. I have only heard of the Harry Potter book and I haven't even read that. Which means I also haven't read the Pierre Bayard book, "How To Talk About Books You Haven't Read". So I have nothing to talk about.
Besides Harry Potter, my favorite book this year was On Chesil Beach by Ian McEwan. Thanks to that book, I am now a HUGE McEwan fan. His best book is Atonement.
Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss.

So much for the list. Nice try, anyway.
