Rabbit With Four Ears

Residents in North Bakersfield, California aren't seeing double, a wild rabbit they've spotted has four ears. The residents have named the rabbit ‘Pete’ and he was discovered among three mundane bunnies living under a local shed.

CNN has video Here.

I think his ears are more shredded than multiple. Look at all the notches on his right ear. We had lots of rabbits like that on the Navy base where I used to live, and I attributed the torn up ears to near-misses from ospreys and other predatory birds. Their talons grabbed the rabbits by the ears, but they managed to wriggle free before they could be carried off. Several neighborhood housecats were not so lucky.

The picture itself is misleading. However, if you watch the video you can CLEARLY see two sets of pinnae. This is a somewhat common mutation. This is NOT a mutilated animal. WATCH THE CNN VIDEO.
