This house is not to be built, it’s to be grown! Architects Mitchell Joachim and Javier Arbona and environmental engineer Lara Greden designed this “tree house†to be both eco-friendly and alive. Trees are planted and trained to grow in the shape of the finished home. As I've seen pointed out elsewhere, this appears uncomfortably similar to visionary artist/engineer Paul Laffoley's concept for a "plant house," right down to the form of the structure, albeit somewhat more traditional to what people think of when they think of a house. I hope if these catch on he'll get the credit he's due and some others of his ideas are given consideration.
