I think it's funny how they show all these silhouette commercials with people holding the iPod at arms length, or flailing about wildly with it clipped to their belt. In reality, the ear buds included are not even long enough to reach ones pants pocket without pulling them out of your ears. That and the fact that not even 3 months after receiving a $450.00 shipped 60gig 5th gen, they come out with a $350.00 shipped 80gig that replaced the 60gig. Apple is a bunch of douche bags...

D&D (especially the older versions) is also very useful for teaching children math and problem-solving skills as well as encouraging reading and imaginative play, the latter of which is very important for social and emotional development. I can't wait until my kids are old enough to play (my oldest is 3), but for now they have giant fuzzy dice to throw around.

Perhaps but another big reason for the resurgence is that D&D retooled to appeal to MMORPG gamers. 3.5 Ed was basically the end of the old D&D paradigm. 4th ed is designed around being tabletop WoW. The game has come full circle.

Old Skool D&D dork here, and yes, putting all the issues into visual elements still helps me solve problems today.
