That Was Me: Background Strangers in Photo.

Al Findlay has a strange website called "That Was Me" with the strange purpose of identifying background lurkers that accidentally (or not) got into the photo.

This one is taken by EdT, who commented:

"Less of `That was me!`, and more of `That was my father!`; my Dad got so pissed off with being asked to get out of the way of people`s photos that he started standing behind groups of tourists with an inane smile on his face. I happened to be standing behind the photographer and caught him in the act. So, if you`re a member of that Argentinian school group and you`re wondering who the hell the strange guy is in the top- right-hand corner, now you know... I`m so dreadfully sorry"

What a great sense of humor this man has. Wish there were more people like him. You shouldn't apologize, you should be proud. Life is too short to take so seriously. I would love to have him stand behind one of my group photos.

I have a Dutch friend who loves to do this. Whenever he sees a tourist having their picture taken, he walks across in the background. Not too close, but close enough to be seen. Sometimes he turns and smiles. He must be in thousands of people's holiday photos. If you have a photo with a tall, cheerful looking looking redhead in the background, it's probably Hans!

I do this all the time at Disneyland and anywhere else I see people taking pics. It always makes me laugh and I wish I could hear the conversations when people develop the pics.

Is there a site like this for the U.S.?

I LOVE IT!! I do this all the time! I even have a signature face I attempt any chance I get.

I used to live in Seattle, and going to Seattle Mariners games was great because there was always some group of fans who loved to take photos. They also seemed to always be huge Ichiro fans. I love getting behind them and making my signature face in the background.

Love it!
