Circular Kitchen.

Short on space in your kitchen? You need Compact Concepts' Circular Kitchen:

The inner core rotates 180 degrees and is equipped with all the conveniences of a conventional kitchen, including a stainless steel sink with chrome single lever mixer, a waste bin and drawers. The upper circular shelf rotates through 360 degrees to house crockery, glasses, etc. Inside it has its own lighting, electrical sockets, electronics, water and waste disposal.

By utilising the volume of the circular kitchen fully, it has been possible to offer a storage capacity equivalent to that of a large conventional kitchen. "It contains the equivalent of 12 cupboards from a conventional kitchen", says designer Alfred Averbeck.

There's also the facility to specify the Circular Kitchen with all the appliances necessary - refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, fully integrated coffee machine, ceramic cook top with 2 or 4 cook zones, a built-in microwave/oven-combination and a Range hood.

and your kids will spin the thing as fast as it will go and all the dishes go flying and crashing... spin to get something out of the fridge and the pot on the stove catches fire... pick it up while trying to spin the unit back to the sink... OMG!!! there's so many ways this is a bad idea. lol.

did anyone ever find a picture of Barbie's Carousel Kitchen? Linda doesn't believe they existed. If anyone can, send her a pix.

Thanks,
Michael

(I wonder if those 3 chickens in the oven are done)

I have been searching for one out of nostalgia for the one I had. This is the first I've found.

A friend of mine (We were 70's children...now in our 40's agewise) just found hers in the attic of her Mom's (She had forgotten about it entirely but seeing it brought back instant memories)and her 4 year old daughter fell in love with it and a whole new generation gets to enjoy it once again...

I, too, recall the Barbie Carousel Kitchen. My sister got one around 1972ish. What made me remember it was watching my husband's old home movies - his little sister had one, too, again, late 60s/early 70s. If I can figure out a way to get a still frame from those movies now that we've transferred them to video, I'll figure out a way to post it to anyone interested. Wow, what memories!!! It seemed so "space age" at the time!

I loved my carousel kitchen! Got it for Christmas in the early 70's and went crazy for it! I remember plastic food (chickens), the dishwasher! I can't find a picture anywhere of it. The ebay one listed above is no longer available.

I can't believe I found other people that were looking for the carousel!!! Even though most are from over a year ago, I feel like I'm not alone!!! I've been looking for pictures as well
