The City Limits: Gorgeous Timelapse from Dominic Bodreault

Posted by Alex in Photography, Travel, Video Clips on May 6, 2011 at 11:19 am

I’m a sucker for beautiful nighttime cityscape time-lapse like this one shot by photographer Dominic Bodreault from late 2010 through early 2011 in Montreal, Quebec City, Toronto, Manhattan, and Chicago. Simply gorgeous (the music by Hans Zimmer is also spot on).

YouTube user FuggedaboutitNL created this time lapse video of his creation of a picture of a Bushmaster ACR (a type of rifle) using nothing but MS Paint. His channel is filled with similarly precise renditions of guns made with that program.

It took over 11 hours to create these two "Where the Wild Things Are" chalk murals at Arnold DC, a Washington ad agency. Watch the timelapse video of their creation, using over 1,500 stills. Really cool.

remanence : variance from Samuel Cockedey on Vimeo.

Here is quite an amazing and beautifully rendered video shot in Tokyo by Samuel Cockedey.

Shot over the span of a year with Canon DSLRs (mostly 350d), processed with Lightroom (raw files color adjustment and resizing)/VirtualDub (deshaker/deflicker filters)/Sony Vegas (editing). Original rendered in 1080p.

Also, check out some of his other work on his website which are also just as fascinating as this. As well, I highly suggest you check the video out in HD.

Garden camera with timelapse capability

Posted by Queuebot in Gadgets, Hacks & Mods, Home & Garden on March 29, 2009 at 8:05 pm

A simple, weatherproof camera designed for the garden or wildlife enthusiast.   It can be programmed to take photos at variable intervals for the creation of time-lapse movie files.

It can focus as close as 20″ away to illustrate petal growth or, with its wide 54″ field of view, it can capture perennials as they grow to conceal your spent spring bulb foliage. The camera takes a picture at one of six pre-determined intervals (five seconds to 24 hours) and combines them into a single 1280 x 1024 resolution AVI movie file for easy playback on a computer. It has a light sensor that turns off the camera at dusk and back on at dawn, allowing for continued video capture each day. Movies are timestamped and stored on the camera’s removable 2GB USB flash drive, which can take up to 18,000 pictures.
