deviantART user Pe-u offers this take on Sandro Botticelli’s The Birth of Venus. One commenter speculates that the matron at the right is Captain Marvel, but I’m inclined to think that it’s supposed to be Superman.

Lowbrow artist Mike Bell made this fanciful depiction of the Bride of Frankenstein in imitation of Sandro Botticelli’s The Birth of Venus. As you can see at artist’s website, the Bride is a favorite motif of Bell.

Isabel Samaras is a San Francisco-based artist who juxtaposes pop culture icons from the 1960s with major works of Western art. Above is “The Birth of Ginger”, a synthesis of Gilligan’s Island and Sandro Botticelli’s “The Birth of Venus”.
