
If you’re one of those people who think insects aren’t pretty, particularly big ones like the praying mantis, well then, you’d better take a look at this great BuzzFeed article that’s sure to change your mind.
It’s called the idolomantis diabolica or Devil’s Flower Mantis. If you’re going to be named after a flower, that’s a pretty badass name to have.
If you ever meet one, don’t be afraid. They get energy that way.

National Geographic reader Sharon Fullingim took this fantastic photo of a praying mantis catching a hummingbird (and believe it or not, this isn’t the first time we’ve featured such a story). Moral of the story? Don’t ever mess with a praying mantis.
