Christopher Lloyd was a great Doc Brown, but I can’t see him as the Doctor. Yet deviantART user Ratgirlstudios’s re-imagining of a Back to the Future Part II poster prompts us to consider the possibility.

Not sufficiently retro for you? Then you could try the Andy Griffith version of “Single Ladies.” As for me, I think that we should start an Internet movement to summon Patrick Stewart, Brent Spiner, and LeVar Burton together to present a real-life version of this video.

I’m having trouble following the plot of this Doctor Who episode. I mean more so than usual. But also like a Doctor Who episode, it’s great fun even when it doesn’t make sense. Rick Kelvington, maker of the excellent Doctor Who/Star Trek mashup, brought the Doctor (#1, 2, 4, 5, 10, 11) into Episode I of Star Wars.

She says the jungle… it just came alive and took him. You bet it did. There’s something out there, and it’s adorable. And it’s hunting us down one at a time.

Marco D’Alfonso created a gallery of funny and well-drawn pop culture mashups. Among them are Catwoman with Garfield, Professor X with Professor Farnsworth, and lots and lots of Deadpool. Pictured above is a scene from a Transformers/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles crossover episode that was meant to be.

I wondered “How is he going to handle Nancy Callahan?” With a clip from The Great Mouse Detective, which was rather clever. Disney movies now seem to be a bit risqué.

Starry Night is a painting by Vincent Van Gogh that has proved to be an enduring iconic image. Painted in 1888, the scene shows a night sky filled with stars swirling over the French countryside, which includes a view of the village of Saint-Rémy. Since 1941, the painting has been at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. But everyone wants their own copy, or some version of Starry Night. We’ve seen a lot of them.
Suzy Myers used quilled paper to recreate Starry Night. You can see the process and closeup views at her site.
Back in April, Mattel unveiled a set of “fine art Barbies.” The collection includes a Da Vinci Mona Lisa model, another honoring Gustav Klimt, and this Barbie honoring Vincent Van Gogh with a Starry Night dress. See them all at If It’s Hip, It’s Here.
Tabitha Ballard made an award-winning cake that reproduces the Van Gogh painting.

Really, Lost and Gilligan’s Island are just ripe for a full-length parody mashup. Until then, we’ll just have to be content with Gilligan and the Skipper discovering the hatch, as Flickr user Legohaulic has imagined.

Tevye may work as a dairyman, but he was born to dance. YouTube user ACDPresents, a film student, made this carefully-timed video for an editing class. It mashes up video from 1971 musical Fiddler on the Roof and audio from the 2004 movie You Got Served.
