The Liebherr LTM 11200-9.1 is a monster crane with a 100 meter (328 feet) boom that can lift up to 1200 tonnes (1322 US tons). You may have seen bigger cranes, but this one is carried on its own truck -two, actually. See pictures and video of this crane in action at Dark Roasted Blend. Link

He had driven one most of his life, and wanted to leave this world in one. So his former boss arranged for an operator to pick up the casket with a digger and carry Baker’s body from his home, to the funeral, and then to the crematorium:

Melvin had originally worked for Keith Bell’s father Jim. Keith remained a family friend and after chatting with his family was happy to make the wish come true.

He said: ”Melvin ended up driving the diggers for us and told me he wanted to make his final journey in one.

”When he first brought it up I thought he was joking but kept on going on and on about it.

”After he died, I dreaded bringing it up with his family, but Jean just said ‘we’ve got to do it for him, Keith, he went on about it all the time’.

Männerspielplatz is a 17-acre theme park in Germany with a real theme. The name translates to “men’s playground”.

For 219 euros (about $280), patrons can spend the day operating 29-ton Liebherr backhoes and 32-ton Komatsu front-end loaders, off-roading through the woods in a Mercedes-built Unimog, peeling out in a Suzuki SUV, and slinging some mud on quad bikes.

The park began as a one-time promotion that became permanent when more and more patrons wanted to have some fun. The biggest customers are women, however, who buy tickets as gifts for men. Link
