Apparently the managers of FuncoLand, the equivalent of Gamestop in the 1990s, are crazy creeps from another dimension that delight in torturing new employees while acting like trailer park royalty. This 2 part training video probably made new hires wonder whether they’d just made a huge mistake, and watching these videos made me nostalgic for the goofiness of the 90s. I miss my Nintendo 64!

It might be lowbrow humor at its lowest, but it gets laughs. Why? Unfortunately the cast and crew can’t say. You just have to have an open mind … and open nostrils.

“I love fart jokes and I think that everyone should,” said Charlie Schulman, who wrote the show’s book. “It’s one of those things in life that makes people laugh, but I don’t know why.”

More flatulent sound effects fill the air of the Manhattan dinner theater where the show opened last week than at a Whoopee cushion factory.

“You could be at a funeral, and if somebody farts, people will laugh,” said Steven Scott, a standup comedian who produces every gassy sound in “The Fartiste” with his mouth. “There’s just something funny about it.”

This is what advertising would look like if we lived in the fantasy worlds we enjoy vicariously through video games. Products would be marketed towards adventurers and heroes, and the magical would be mundane as ad agencies try to increase sales.

My faves are the ads for hair care products featuring Final Fantasy characters and anime girls with rainbow colored hair. I guess they weren’t born with pink hair?!

Mario’s brother Luigi once had his day in the sun, thanks to a Nintendo Gamecube game called Luigi’s Mansion, in which Luigi wins a haunted mansion and must rescue Mario from his ghostly captors using a vacuum pack to bust the spooks. This commercial parody from Saturday Night Live in the early 1990s paved the way for future kittie videos to take the interwebs by storm, and it’s an ad for a  fake product I’d actually like to see sold in stores, especially around Halloween. It doesn’t get much better than armor clad cats battling it out with mini rocket launchers, oh wait, they glow in the dark?!

Who knew that driving a street sweeper all over town, cleaning streets and stuff, wouldn’t make for a good video game? Probably everyone who has ever played a video game and doesn’t work as a street sweeper. Heck, I’d venture to guess that even a professional street sweeper wouldn’t want to go home and play a game involving street sweeping!

So, the question I have as an avid gamer is this- how do these awful video games keep getting made and released upon an unsuspecting public? My guess is an anti-video game conspiracy bent on turning gamers against their favorite pastime. Stop shaking your cane at me!

Watching these guys imitate an anime scene is funny yet somehow scary, and it’s made much worse by the fact that they’re acting out to a Backstreet Boys song, especially when the guy on the left’s hair is so much cooler than all of the Backstreet Boys put together.
