Have you ever been to an animal shelter? Come take a tour! Mind you, the Wake County SCPA in Raleigh, North Carolina looks to be the Cadillac of animal shelters, and your local shelter probably won't greet you with a song, but you still may find a new companion to fall in love with. -via Daily Picks and Flicks

As I played this video my dog we just got from the shelter a week ago got confused by the barking at the start. This was an awesome video and shelter doggies are great dogs.

My local shelter is a metal quonset hut with rooms divided by chain-link fence inside, but the volunteers work their butts off to take care of the animals. And it's much better than what we had before, which was nothing.

The nicest interior for an animal shelter I've ever seen... and given the evidence of the level of commitment, possibly the nicest staff.

Our beloved schnoodle came to us by way of a rescue group dedicated to schnauzers and schnoodles. We 'took a chance' and haven't regreted it for a minute. We adore him now and forever more.
