Product Review: Baby Dipper Bowl

By Tiffany in Gadgets, Home on May 11, 2010 at 4:17 pm

Some Neatorama fans sent us this great free sample of the Baby Dipper bowl to try out.  I have to say that at first I thought the shape was kind of funny. It reminded me of a sport cup.  But, now after having tried the product for feeding my 8 months old  I’m a total convert.  I love it.

The bowl is low enough that I don’t accidentally knock it over.  It is solid enough that when I do manage to knock into it doesn’t go anywhere.  It has a great non-slip base.

The spoon-shaped lower corner makes for very easy feeding. Sometimes it even lets me sneak in a bite of my own food with my free hand.

If I could change anything about the bowl it would be to make it in some different colors.

My favorite part about the bowl, however, is that it was Mommy invented. Mommy inventions rock!

We use bowls that have little suction cups on the bottom.

I have used the suction bowls too. The only problem I had with those were that the suction on mine got all wonky after a while. Plus, mine were kind of tall and have this terrible habit of knocking bowls over with my wrists as I swing back from feeding the baby to passing stuff to the older kids. In short I’m clutz.

There should be all sorts of products with wide heavy non-slip bases. I’m always looking for something to put toothbrushes, watercolor paint, flowers, communal food like peanuts, or utensils in that wont be knocked over so easily. These bowls could be made in all sizes and shapes, and I would buy a set!

Some pet dishes are made with heavy bases, but of non-ceramic materials so that they don’t break when dropped.

Most of the mommy-invented things I’ve seen lately are teeth-whitening solutions or 1 tip of a flat belly.

Not clear on why they think I should prefer a tooth-whitening solution invented by a mom over, say, a dentist (who may or may not be a mom)

@Miss Cellania – Baby Dipper is planning to offer larger sizes and different versions of the basic Baby Dipper design as finances and resources permit. They will all be heavy and have non-slip bases to help with the removal of the contents. Any interest in reviewing a Baby Dipper bowl yourself?

I don’t know about Miss Cellania, but I have a toddler and another baby on the way, and I’d be glad to test your product!

@John – We can arrange that. Any chance you can chat about it on NeatoGeek since it is patented, after all?

Hmmm. Well, I understand how that would be important to you, if not a requirement. But it doesn’t really fit the niche.

@John- As more products come up for review I will let you know and see if you are interested in trying them out on your little ones. I for one think a Daddy’s perspective would be great.
