Right? I'M envious of my OWN work for LeVar Burton. The "Teamwork" song still plays in my head every time I think about it. ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OOeq-VyFF_c )

He could have had that cross stitch for free, too. I specifically stated in the listing that if somehow LeVar Burton ever saw it (hilarious, right? Because how would LeVar Burton ever see anything I did?!?), he could just have it, immediately. Being the incredibly classy guy that he is, he didn't ask, but when I asked where he'd like the money to go (because you cannot keep money from LeVar Burton, not when you already have Reading Rainbow and TNG), he approved of donating the purchase price to First Book, a children's literacy charity.

It's definitely the most surreal thing that's ever happened to me, and in the top five for awesome.

Ha! :D Thanks for noticing the microbes, Neatorama! (Can I call you Neat?)

You're definitely right that my love of semicolons tells you pretty much everything you need to know about me. For those who are less inclined toward love of punctuation, I'll also mention that today I'm stitching a parody sampler of the monologue from Taken; LeVar Burton once bought a "Set Phasers to 'Love Me'" cross stitch from my shop and tweeted it (Christmas 2012); I drink British tea, with honey, no milk; I lived in western China for 2 years; I have an M.A. in watching TV (and wrote my thesis on Criminal Minds); and my husband and I are a Playstation household that also has an XBox.

I've played Isaac Asimov's Robots VCR Mystery Game. It was exactly as awesome as you'd expect it to be.

I'm one of those internet people who love the show Community more than anything (minus the gas leak year).

I'm basically the perfect blend of Arya and Tyrion. (In that I'm a girl, and I'm kind of short.)

My embroidery heroine is Amy Sheridan, who stitches Kanye West tweets and horror movie scenes/characters and -- horror movies being my favorite *kind* of movie -- I dream of owning a horrifying trinity of her work. (See her stuff here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/supervelma )

But probably the most relevant thing for me to mention is that I don't have a real background in microbiology or science in general (I took geology in college and made a foam-core model of flood basalt, but that's pretty much it), so I rely on CDC and Wikipedia images to pattern each microbe, and on medical professionals and people who work in labs to suggest new microbes to pattern and stitch -- so if you don't see your favorite microbe, cell type, prion, whatever, you're always welcome to request it, and please do. I'm constantly adding to the list, and I find the subject matter completely fascinating. I'd love to hear from you.

My favorite color is orange.
