Lights Out

Warning: watch this scary film in the daylight, or at least not just before bed. Lights Out, a short film by  David Sandberg, illustrates the difference between old-fashioned Hitchcock-style suspense and whatever the newer special-effects-dependent horror films are called. Gorefests, maybe? You don’t need all that, because the scariest thing you'll ever encounter is your imagination. This story won Sandberg the Best Director award in the Who’s There? Horror Challenge.  -via Daily of the Day

Oh God, I used to be so afraid of something like this happening when I was a kid. Your imagination goes wild. Her biggest mistake was leaving the safety of under the covers. Nothing can get you there.
