The San Diego Zoo's youngest panda just turned one a few days ago. To celebrate, his keepers made him a giant ice cake built around bamboo and covered in carrot shavings. While the cake was about two feet taller than the panda, he didn't have a hard time climbing to the top to get all of his tasty treats.

This made me curious about how long it takes a panda to grow up, and I had to go look it up. Pandas are generally weaned between 1.5 to 2 years (although they start eating bamboo much earlier), and take 4-8 years to reach sexual maturity. I guess that's about when they stop growing.
