How to Make Dexter Eggs

The opening sequence of Dexter is a masterpiece of directing. Dexter gets ready for the day, but everything he does has a muderous undertone. He splashes some hot sauce on his eggs, but the impression is that our favorite blood spatter expert is busy at his second job.

I wonder how much faster it is using computer animation? Or is it just a case of having many people working a scene at the same time? I really miss the old stop motion and miniature work in movies. It was less obvious where the real ended and the magic began.
