Swirling Spiral of Light Over the Middle East

[YouTube Clip]

Last week, a swirling spiral of light was seen in the skies over Israel, Syria and other Middle East countries. Was it UFO?

Naw, turned out it was just the Russians:

The Voice of Russia reported that the country's Strategic Missile Forces conducted a test of the Topol ICBM from the Kapustin Yar firing range near Astrakhan in southern Russia on Thursday. Such a launch could theoretically be seen from areas of the Middle East and the Caucasus.

It never fails to dismay me that imaginary explanations are far more attractive to so many people when perfectly reasonable - and MUCH more likely - explanations exist.

As Iron-hands points out, a similar thing happened last year. Shouldn't that be anyone's first guess?

Anyway, thanks for posting the video. How about next time leave UFO's out of it? Extra-terrestrials which have the technology to reach distant solar systems aren't likely to be using it to put on light shows, make crop circles, nor appear to drunken individuals in rural areas!

NonnyMus, don't you think extra-terrestrials have sense of humor? What could be funnier than teleporting in front of drunks and demanding to be taken to their leader?
