Classic Comic Book Covers in Stained Glass

Brandon Michael, an art student at Purdue University, reproduced six classic superhero comic book covers in stained glass. Pictured above is a 1939 issue of Batman. I would love to see Ninja High School #1 in this medium. http://www.manormonsterstudios.com/stained-glass.html -via Nerd Bastards

Is this actual glass? Some of those cuts look impossible with conventional glass cutting. It could probably be done in real glass shaped with a grinder, but maybe it's paint and texture media on plexiglass or made in Photoshop, GIMP, or stained glass CAD software.

That's not stained glass. It's not even leadlight.

Looks like melted plastic, I'd have said the swirls were caused by a toothpick or soemthing.

They look cool, but don't call it stained glass.
