Kobayashi Breaks The Hot Dog Eating Record

If you keep up with the riveting world of competitive eating contests, then you have probably heard that hot-dog-munching legend Takeru Kobayashi once again refused to eat in the annual Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest due to a contractual dispute. But Kobayashi proved that he still has what it takes to be a champion, smashing the existing record for number of hot dogs eaten in 10 minutes -bringing it from 62 dogs to 69.

And don't forget that it's us in the "western world" who are profiting from this disequilibrium. Our clothes, computers etc are affordable (or cheap) because somebody else somewhere else in the world is working at starvation rates. Our corporations are plundering the natural resources of almost all underdeveloped countries without any benefit at all to those underdeveloped countries. Etc.

Lieutenant, Kobayashi refuses to join the professional competitive eating league (yes, there is one) and so is banned from the Nathan's competition. He showed up last year to protest and was arrested for disorderly conduct.
