QR Code Art

By John Farrier in Art & Design on May 20, 2011 at 5:26 pm

In the past, Scott Blake made composite portraits of people using barcodes. Now he’s getting with the times and using QR codes instead. Pictured above is a portrait of radio show host Amy Goodman. Each one links to segments from her show over the past nine years.

Amazing. Although I do not get the stripes either. He may have worked with a photo, where the light was shining through blankets. That would explain the whole thing! I would definitely like to see more of his works.

Thanks for showing an interest in my Barcode Art.

I added the radial stripes to create an extra dimension to the portrait that mimics radio waves. Amy Goodman is the host of Democracy Now which is broadcast on Pacifica radio. You can also watch the show online democracynow.org
