Woman Who Says "I'm Too Rich to Go to Jail" Is Proven Incorrect

A woman at the Stoneybrook Country Club in Estero, Florida believed that she could not be arrested for getting into a fight:

When deputies placed Hincapie under arrest, she allegedly said, "You are in trouble because I am a New Yorker and my brother is CSI" and "My dad paid cash for my Toyota Corolla and I am too rich to go to jail."

Even as she was being taken to jail, deputies say she continued to tell the deputy he was going to be in serious trouble for arresting her.

It's amazing how the American judicial system is a legal system not a justice system where the rich can buy their way out of most everything hrough the use of expensive legal council using the system against itself. Having said that you don't want to be caught in the Thailand legal system, that's for sure as your lawyer can be bought to work agaqinst you, the judge can be bought, lost evidence means nothing, inconsistency ion police reports mean nothing and any previous wrong action makes you guilty.

The United States system is far from perfect, but I'd much rather deal with it than many of the other legal systems in the world.

That said: When daddy pays cash for the Lamborghini, I'd take her "too rich to go to jail" (if not prison) seriously.

I've heard of people who don't think they have to stop if the sign has a white border (they all do) and who think that police don't ticket for speeding if it's dark. (duh)
It's odd that some people look at celebrities as examples of how to avoid the law.
No, family names or the ability to pay cash for things should never exclude people from abiding by their civic guidelines.

Not surprising. I've lived in Florida for nearly 30 years and the number of snots down here who believe they are better than anyone else is incredible.

I love taking them down a notch or two...
