What's 65 feet tall and consists of 340 bicycles and one tricycle? A work called Cyclisk, newly installed in Santa Rosa, California, by artists Mark Grieve and Ilana Spector. Placed among several car dealers, the obelisk was funded by a grant from Nissan to the city of Santa Rosa, which has a regulation that one percent of major construction project funds be devoted to art. I live in Santa Rosa and, while I think the sculpture is kinda neat, I think they could have chosen a better place to put it, like a park or plaza. It looks really out of place where they put it.

While I love art, this seems like a waste of many bikes. I wonder where the artist got so many bikes?

I'm sure the Nissan car company wants to destroy as many bicycles as they can.
