Orca Pixel Sculpture

By John Farrier in Art on Jul 10, 2010 at 6:34 pm

Douglas Coupland made this pixelated sculpture of an orca. It’s located at the Vancouver Convention Centre. Coupland is also a novelist and playwright, and we’ve previously featured his innovative trailer for a book.

Before reading the title, I thought that thing was censored for some reason.

@teh yoshi My thought exactly! Why would you censor a picture of a wale?

Also, Douglas is quite the renaissance man.

I like this, it’s down by where I work. Woohoo the second thing I’ve seen on the way to work that’s featured on Neatorama, and the other thing was in London!
