Pictured is Nathan Chivers (left), who has been Paralympian Bart Bunting’s guide human since they were young kids. Using simple, short, precise calls over the radio, Nathan keeps Bart on a path to Aussie Gold on the slopes in this year’s Winter Paralympics in Vancouver, Canada. Bart has been blind since birth, but is involved in rock climbing, surfing, and of course, alpine skiing.

Bart ended up without a medal this time, but I really get a kick out of those goggles. In honor of all the athletes that competed this year, head over to The Big Picture and check out more photographs.
