He isn't an idiot because of the reasons you listed. He, in privacy, glued his bluetooth to his head, and then he detached it from his head by himself. He is an idiot because he let the local news find out about it.
Why would you want everyone to know about that?
I personally have accidentally had a glue mishap, but I didn't shout it from the rooftops!
In a pinch you can use nail polish remover or even model airplane fuel, but the de-bonder will work much better...
