A (presumably) abandoned ship near a US nuclear test is swamped by the resulting massive wave. The video is courtesy of Atom Central, a site filled with pictures, videos, and information about nuclear weapons.

Why did they dub the sound? It seems really fake when you hear the explosion instantaneously. Speed of sound, dude.

I don’t think the sound is fake. As I recall sound travels faster through water and the nuke was probably detonated several meters below the water.

This seems like a COBRA plot, blowing up the ocean.

As for the sound, the microphone would have been above water…. i think this is fake

How did the movie camera that supposedly recorded this survive the impact/wave ? Hmmm…

1958. Near Enewetak Atoll. Operation Hardtack. Nuclear test “Umbrella.”

    Took me 4 minutes.

It’s no big deal I’d say. The ship doesn’t move a bit, as can be seen around 0:30. So it’s not a wave, it’s just spray
