Real-Life Simpsons House

In 1997, home developer Kaufman & Broad built a house in Henderson, Nevada that looks exactly like the house that the Simpson family lives in, both inside and outside, including furniture and pictures on the walls. From an article in The Las Vegas Sun, written at the time of construction:

"The Simpsons", the satirical, animated clan who put the phrases "Doh!" and "Eat my shorts" into the national vernacular, are celebrating their 10th year on television. And in true Simpson fashion, the producers of the show are doing the unexpected - recreating the family's two-story domicile right down to the throw rugs. Builder Kaufman & Broad has taken the 724 Evergreen Terrace address out of two dimensions and cast it in three, placing it smack dab in the middle of Henderson, Nev., in a housing development appropriately called "Springfield."

The kitchen is really cute. The colors in the rest of the house would give me a constant headache though.
Wasn't there already a Simpsons house made though that was given away in a contest? And some old bat won it.

If you go to the gallery linked above there is a side by side comparison of the cartoon house and the real hous exteriors, and you can see that they do NOT match. The garage sticks straight out of the real house, but the original animated house has that portion recessed, with a window above.
Yes, I am a nerd, why do you ask?

They're listing words that the Simpsons introduced into the vernacular and the best they can do is Doh and Eat my Shorts?

First of all, Eat My Shorts goes back WAY before the Breakfast Club. Second of all, there are so many phrases I hear every day that link back to a Simpsons episode, "Eat My Shorts" is probably the least common, and least intelligent of the group!
