Pokémon Maxi Pad

By Alex in Comics & Cartoons, Fashion, Pictures on Sep 24, 2009 at 3:13 am

Wha…? Is that …? Really? Yes, it is. Behold the reusable Pokémon-themed maxi pad, made by Etsy seller NaturallyHip.

I’m sure there’s a joke in there somewhere. And while we’re at it, this product certainly does add a twist to the Pokemon motto of "gotta catch ‘em all," doesn’t it?

I wonder if Picachu evolves to indicate the maxi is wet? Or maybe he just turns red.

They have similar pads for urinary incontinence, called…

    …yes…

    “pee catch u’s”.

There’s a large part of me that has always wanted to use reusable pads, but I just can’t make myself add the chore of washing them into my routine. Not even if they’re cute.

    Ew ew ew ew ew…..
Reusable pad? Seriously? That makes me cringe even thinking about it. Yuck.

It makes perverse sense, as the original cartoon was bloody awful.

Disposable maxi pads have only been around for a century or so, people. What do you think women did before then? Just held it in?

Visit a landfill sometime and check out where all of your disposable things go when you throw them “away.”

I’m glad to fill up those landfills. And I could care less what women did when they got their periods before.
There are disposable pads now, and I’m happy to use them.

Aside from being more expensive, pads made from plastic and paper are terribly uncomfortable. My main preference is a cup (Mine is a Diva Cup, and it’s SO much better than any disposable ever made) but I keep a few cloths on hand just in case. You have to admit, Pokemon is a lot more “fun” than any design on any disposable product out there!

You have to admit, Pokemon is a lot more fun than any design available for disposable “feminine” products out there!
