This faux trailer presents Super Mario Bros. as the classic war movie The Inglorious Bastards (or possibly the new Quentin Tarantino remake). It’s called The Inglorious Plumbers and was produced by Nick Murphy.

Very cute. I think it's pretty clearly riffing of Tarantino. (Which I didn't know is a remake. The web DOES make you smarter.

Not to pick nits, but Wikipedia says that the new (misspelled) movie had its title inspired by the classic, but isn't really a remake.

Take it for what it's worth.

the filmmaker spelled "Plummers" wrongly at the end...

I'm sick and tired of half-decent short films with people who lack grade-school education of the English language.

although this might be a clever thing he did - i.e. how Tarantino spelled "Basterds" wrongly. In that case, good job. Otherwise... /rant

yes, it's misspelled intentionally. as is "Inglourious"...just like Tarantino. (this is clearly a spoof of Tarantino's film)

by the way...this is what Tarantino said about the misspelling: "Here's the thing. I'm never going to explain that. You do an artistic flourish like that, and to explain it would just take the piss out of it and invalidate the whole stroke in the first place."

It's definitely the Tarantino movie, which isn't a remake. This takes footage directly from the first Basterds trailer, and the original Inglorious Bastards has absolutely NOTHING to do with the plot of the new one.
