Urlesque has compiled videos of unique accordion cover songs, including variations on the works of Britney Spears, Duran Duran, and Black Sabbath. Here’s a video of YouTube user mattdallow playing “Paint It Black” by the Rolling Stones.

Oh god the youtube commenters. Making fun of accordions is so nineties. Now they are cool.

A perfect gentleman is someone who knows how to play the accordion. And doesn’t.

Anyway. Great idea, awful musician. Pushing/pulling timing is way off, so he’s missing the starts of a lot of the notes. Very annoying. When playing wind instruments, you don’t freakin’ breath in the middle of a note, and neither should you change from push to pull.

    I raged @30 seconds. Dangit.

Fun – but is there any way to turn off the irritating “Insert your text here” bubbles? YouTube seems plagues with that sort of thing.

As someone who does play an accordion I can say he is good, considering there is no sheet music for the songs he performed. So he probably “tabbed” that out on his own which takes a lot of time.
But, his use of bellows is something he needs to work on.

    Wow, I just found this…
    Thanks for linking me here…

Thanks for the criticisms too, everyone… My bellow work is better now… I’m 100% self taught so I’ll take any advice I get…(in my defense that accordion has some air leak issues, so my breathing is all messed up on it)

Halvor, a little brutal, but I appreciate the Tom Waits quote… I am certainly no gentleman.
