Math Mom: If I've Told You N Times, I've Told You N+1 Times

   My mother only tells me fifty times. 100 sometimes

   That shirt doesn't really work for me. The saying I've always heard was, "If I've told you once, I've told you a thousand times". So the N/N+1 thing doesn't really fit.

   But maybe the saying is different for other people? I've never heard anyone say "If I've told you once, I've told you twice", or "If I've told you 5 times, I've told you 6 times"...

   Eh...it's probably just me.

   Would it work if it said "If I've told you N times, I've told you N+999 times"?

   Ive never heard anyone say if Ive told you once ive told you twice or anything that follows the formula of this shirt either Sam

   n+999 works or n+99 as well

   I like it. But maybe, "if I told you N times I've told you Nx10^3 times?"

   It's a cyclic formula:

   "I've you you N x "
   equals "I've told you N + 1 x"

   So I've told you 1 time
   = I've told you 2 times
   (here we apply the formula again)
   = I've told you 3 times
   (and so on, until...)
   = I've told you 1,000 times

   So If N = N + 1
   then N = N + 999

   Therefore the formula does work to Sam K !
