SmartFaucet

For the person who has everything, here’s SmartFaucet. Besides the features you’ve actually heard of in a faucet, it has a face recognition system so it can adjust heat and flow to your individual preferences. And it has a touchscreen display on which you can check your email! I think I will pass -I’m so old-fashioned that I prefer my water without electricity. Link -via J-Walk Blog

Now if it twitters every time you wash your hands, or better yet team up with the toilet and twitters when you don't wash your hands after using the john that would be... well just sad really.

While the temperature adjustment thing would be a neat little toy to have, I still don't see the point in it. It's not as though it's so hard to adjust water temperature and something just needs to come along and solve that enduring crisis. Checking email? When I'm in the loo, the last thing I want is to be bothered with email.

They have a screw in gadget on ThinkGeek.com that does the same to an ordinary faucet for cheap

I wouldn't like face recognition on the bath tub or shower. I don't want my plumbing to see me naked.

The flaw in logic is that it assumes you always want the same temperature of water.

Oh, sure, and then they'll invent these things that wash your hands for you next. I can almost sense it.

Coloring the water red/blue depending on temperature is useful, and has been done before. Other than that...

And if I prefer a different colour for my water, say green? Can SmartFaucet do that?
